It started with one. My oldest sister wanted a bunny. Mom was not excited about it and for a long time she said "NO!" Then, with good counsel from my dad, she relented. My sister was fantastic with animals, but we had no idea how sweet a well loved whisker could be.

Once mom caught the whisker love, we were all hooked for life. My dad and I got a Netherland Dwarf (Skadoosh) for our birthday (both of us were born on Halloween). It was love at first sight. Unfortunately, we learned that our first fully pedigreed whisker carried a genetic defect leaving him unable to breed. Mom and I decided that a bunny breeding business would be a good school project and we started searching for a healthy quality pair to start Wittaker's Whiskers.

I am the youngest of 5 kids and love taking care of the whiskers. My time and effort working with Skadoosh produced a calm snuggly whisker who loves us as much as we love him. For a while, I was part of 4-H to learn more about showing. As a home educated kiddo, my family saw an opportunity to teach business skills and provide sweet family friendly whiskers to other families.

 

While it is called Wittaker's Whiskers it is a family business/love. My sisters help with care if I'm gone and are a great source of information. Mom oversees everything and is my "financial backer." We take pride in providing whiskers that have been handled and loved daily, are started on litter box training, and are fully pedigreed. Our whiskers can fit perfectly into your single whisker home or be bonded to another whisker.
